Sad day for Internet in Australia. Australian Senate has passed a bill
to allow censorship of the Internet. Only few other countries like Singapore
and China have attempted similar regulations. It is based on film ratings
and forbids any X rated material. All R rated material must have restricted
access. This will come to life on 1 January 2000 after it is passed by
Parliament (which is a formality as Liberal party holds majority there).
As a surprising fact: Labor voted against the bill. Final result was 34
for, 32 against. Senate Committee page: http://www.aph.gov.au/senate/committee/it_ctte/

13 December 1998 This is a warning for people with HOTMAIL accounts Over the last 2 weeks there were hundreds of e-mails send to members of HOTMAIL service which have not been answered by HOTMAIL server. Typical message we are getting is:
The system tried for 24 hours to deliver your message but was unsuccessful. This is usually caused by the remote mail server being off line or unavailable.Today there were over 30 message that bounced back. What can you do ? First, check your email history and see if there are any message sent to you that you have not received. Then request another member to resend the message. Second, setup FREE account with another service like YAHOO or MailExcite, click here. This could be temporary malfunction of HOTMAIL or sign of troubles to come ... Greg Webmaster
